On March 14th, 2012 Seth Wescott, two-time Olympic Boardercross gold medalist and world champion visited Camden and the Snow Bowl to inspire young people with his story of growing up in a small town in Maine and becoming the best in the world. He also spoke of the value of small community ski areas like the Snow Bowl.
Seth toured the Snow Bowl, interacted with children in the 4th grade learn-to-ski-and-snowboard program, addressed all the students and the Camden Hills Regional High School, held a Q & A session at the Snow Bowl, attended a reception at the Waterfront Restuarant, and finished the day at the Camden Opera House where he showed slides and told stories from his recent trip to Antarctica and signed lots of autographs. Her are images from that day taken by Dave Ridley. The event was coordinated by the Ragged Mountain Recreation Area Foundation and generously sponsored by CedarWorks and the Camden Irving Station.
